The Veiled Pipe

I like to use sculpture techniques not so much to decorate but to “twist” the pipe. This maintains its classical basis, but something happens to it. It can change consistency, it can be knotted, it can be deformed…. something strange happens.

This is the case of The Veiled Pipe: a classic pipe covered with a veil. Why? Here is the charm of the mystery. One of my most challenging works, and very time-consuming, many hours have been spent in every single fold of the veil.

This sculptural smoking pipe wants to be both a tribute to the great artists of the past and present, and to the Pipe object itself. In this gallery: the first two veiled pipes.
